The former president's Granddaughter Receives Professional Tips from Tiger Woods Ahead of Professional Golf First Appearance
The rising star has considerable online presence
Kai Trump can count on multiple prominent backers as she begins her LPGA debut on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, received a tournament invitation to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, operates several courses worldwide and often competes against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.
Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"My grandpa practically suggested to go out there and have fun," she added.
"From my perspective, he's just an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with world affairs, making him rather occupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has participated in only three events recently and has position 461 in AJGA rankings.
However she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.
"He represents the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"And he's a more impressive individual. He suggested me to compete, enjoy myself, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge several the biggest names in professional golf at the Annika, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Officials commented that Kai's presence exposes the sport to wider groups, particularly among youth audiences.
Kai boasts millions of followers and just introduced her own apparel and wellness brand.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
